T5 to T2 in only 36 hours!

Well we woke very early today, and headed to Eldorado Canyon, what a place, it is ridiculously busy, and our warm up route was occupied by 6 people being guided very slowly. Its usually me that is holding people up! So instead we climbed the first pitch of Naked Edge, the next pitch look hard so i bypassed it, and headed to the upper ramp for a route called T2 it is about E2 on a few of the pitches. This route is world class. We did about 8/9 pitches to get to the top exhausted after 36 hours non stop travelling and one poor nights sleep.

At the top I ran into a guide, who asked me what I thought about the hundreds of dive bombing swallows. He thought it added the feel of the Cliff. Personally I had to tell him that a swallow smaller than my hand was nothing compared to a seagull trying to take your head off!

There are a selection of photos below, some even funny bits of what the USA is, which at times is nothing but peculiar.

Whilst boulder is awesome, unfortunately they don’t do PhD course in sport psychology, otherwise I might be relocating to Boulder, as I nearly got whiplash in the car as every woman is immensely attractive. Similarly the Flatiron are literally in some people back doors. The one bad thing about boulder is other than a Hostel in the middle of a university campus/perpetual party there is no camping or cheap accommodation. So we headed to the hills and went shopping in a place called Lyon, its a lovely place but starting to get a little hick to be honest. We brought some minced beef, which may or may not be edible, I will inform you when I next find a Wifi connection. Given I am currently blogging from the campsite, that may well be tomorrow!

To find a campsite we headed up into the mountains following the Olympic athlete maxim train low, sleep high. Due to Llion missing his children we are currently camping in Jellystone campsite with Yogi and Bobo, and not because this was the first campsite we stumbled across. Anyway having looked at the map/guidebook to Colorado, we are close to Lumpy Ridge a 500ft cliff so will probably head up there tomorrow rather than back to do something on the Bastille in Eldo, which may seem something of a anti-climax after T2.

P3 Naked Edge, the real edge starts above but is currently bird banned

The first pitch of the upper ramp on T2, one of the best pitches anywhere in the world at E2.
